EMDR

EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a form of therapy that uses bilateral movements to change the intensity of certain memories and allow them to be reprocessed in a more beneficial way. I experienced EMDR firsthand before becoming trained it it and have made it a part of my practice because of this.
It is commonly used to help people recover from traumatic and distressing experiences including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic.  It can be used in combination with other psychotherapies. It was started by Francine Shapiro in 1988 to address clients traumatic experiences.  I am an EMDR trained clinician since 2018.
